U.S. President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met at Chequers to underscore the “special relationship” between the two nations while sidestepping contentious domestic and foreign policy issues. The meeting followed a lavish state visit aimed at strengthening economic ties, with London seeking to attract U.S. investment and reduce tariffs. A significant part of this strategy includes a $338 billion bilateral investment initiative, known as the Technology Prosperity Deal, which will see major U.S. firms investing heavily in Britain. While both leaders agreed on the need to pressure Russia regarding its actions in Ukraine, they diverged on other significant topics, including the Israel-Palestine conflict and renewable energy policies.
